Join us on an enchanting biking tour of Fredericksburg, the most charming small town in Texas! Discover the rich history of Fredericksburg while enjoying a breezy bike ride. You will cruise in and around the Historic District, discovering historical homes and sites you never see when walking, all while enjoying a pleasant bike ride!

Learn about the founding of Fredericksburg and its German pioneers. Explore the outskirts of the Historic District, including log cabins, fachwerk houses, Sunday houses, the most famous pioneer home in all of Fredericksburg (the Johann Peter Tatsch house), the 1889 Bierschwale house designed by renowned architect Alfred Giles (the same architect who designed the Pioneer Memorial Library), the Basse Brothers yard (who made the famous Basse blocks), the St. Barnabus Chapel where President Lyndon Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson attended worship services (for those who prefer a slightly more adventurous bike ride), and other sites you won’t see when walking Fredericksburg!

Tour Information

Bike in and around the charming Historic District of Fredericksburg and enjoy a ride through history! The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and is approximately 4 miles.

We will meet at the courthouse plaza park at the gazebo, just behind the magnificent Pioneer Memorial Library.

Distinctive symmetry. Christian Stehling was the person who introduced electricity to Fredericksburg and the Stehling house was the first place in Fredericksburg to display Christmas lights.

St. Barnabus Chapel

Historic fachwerk chapel where LBJ’s family attended services. The main church holds a stone from the famous St. Barnabus Church in Cyprus.

Pioneer Memorial Library

Originally the Gillespie County courthouse built in 1882. Designed by famous architect Alfred Giles.
